connecting students to citizen science
and curated collections
This project began as a cool idea brainstormed during a workshop at the annual Botany conference in 2016. Our collaborative team has since developed what we believe to be an excellent modular resource for training the next generation of botanists in best practices for plant collections. We use traditional methods coupled with iNaturalist to facilitate extended specimens with more information and more detailed label data than the traditional herbarium specimen. While there are some supplementary curricular materials available through our website, we also have an instructor-only access page with additional curricular materials.
